About the Period Summit

The Period Summit is Safety For Every Girl's flagship convening, held in Lagos. It brings together policymakers, corporate leaders, health professionals, creatives and young women to treat women's safety and menstrual dignity as what they are: a national development priority.

The Summit began in 2024 with one question: how do we end period poverty in Nigeria? By 2026 it had grown into a broader platform on women's safety at home, in school, at work and online. Every edition is powered by stories from Nigerian women and girls, gathered through a national competition and brought to the stage.

LATEST EDITION

2026 · Her Safety, Her Power

13 March 2026  •  Radisson Blu, Victoria Island, Lagos  •  In partnership with MTN Nigeria

The second Period Summit moved the conversation from period poverty to women's safety as a whole, and framed it as an economic issue. Panels examined the "safety tax" women pay: the daily adjustments to how they work, travel and speak just to feel safe, and what that costs Nigeria in lost participation and growth.

The day was hosted by broadcaster Ify Igwe. It featured a fireside chat between our founder and actor and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri on storytelling as a tool for change, an intergenerational panel on holding systems accountable, a live interschool debate, and the finale of our National Storytelling Competition.
